Who Are We?🤔
Ece Nur Emre
Hi everyone! My name is Ece Nur, and I'm a sophomore Communication and Design student from Bilkent University.
I wanted to choose this department because I have been interested in design and art from a young age. I took this course as an elective because I wanted to improve my writing skills. This course was an excellent opportunity to enhance my writing skills.
By writing this blog, I would like to inform you about Asian food culture and use my knowledge about the communication department. The reason I decided to write about Asian food is the fact that I really enjoy eating it. I haven't tried to make it yet, but I would love to make it one day and give recipes. At first, I was prejudiced against Asian foods, but as I tried Asian foods over time, I realized that the taste was really suitable for me. Now I enjoy eating it. In this blog, I want to break the prejudices of prejudiced people against Asian food and give various information about the food and the culture.
I wish you good reading!

Gigi, Kit Chi Chan
Hello, every foodie! I'm Gigi from Hong Kong, now an exchange student at Bilkent University studying Communication and design.
Delicious food can always make my day. When I'm in Hong Kong, I love to explore different restaurants from various Asian countries, including China, Japan, Korea, and more. After I arrived in Ankara for a month, sometimes I started to miss Asian food. Therefore, I decided to explore Asian restaurants in Ankara and to share them with all of you.
As I have mentioned, good food can really make your day. I want to share the delicious food with you and also the happiness of enjoying food. Besides, I hope to share the culture behind Asian food and how it is different from Turkish. So you can enjoy food and get to know some new cultures at the same time! Besides, most of the foreigners have stereotypes that Asian food is all about rice. And I'm here to break your preconception.
Food lovers, are you all ready to discover more mouth-watering dishes?

Defne Demirbaş
Hello, fellow food lovers!
I'm Defne Demirbaş, a senior Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) student from Bilkent University, and this is my last term. I am very interested in neuroscience and want to pursue my studies after undergrad as a researcher in this area. However, I took this course as an elective because writing has always been my passion, especially blog writing. Ever since I was young, I wrote something about myself. First, it started with writing a journal, then it developed into writing poems, short stories, theatrical scripts, and now here I am writing a blog!
I also took this course because I can combine my two interests and skills into helping produce this blog: research and writing. I can add to this blog the research skills that I also learned in my studies as a scientist into building them in a creative area, journalism, and blogging. I have gotten enthusiastic about Asian food in the past 2-3 years. My friends and I order sushi from Chinese sushi express in Istanbul, in the dorm in Ankara. I also got introduced to Quick China with the help of one of my friends in Bilkent. I had tasted Korean food in NYC in 2015. So as you can understand, Asian food has entered my world right now hence by searching different Asian foods: Korean, Japan, Chinese, etc. and by journaling the restaurants, the Asian food lovers in this area with my team, I believe that we can bring a new perception to Asian food and maybe even break some of the stereotypes you have in mind!
Hope to see you soon:)
